Braces & Teeth Straightening

Achieve a confident, aligned smile with modern orthodontic solutions

What is Teeth Braces?

Braces are orthodontic dental devices used to correct misaligned teeth and jaws. Commonly used to help correct crooked teeth, crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, and crossbites, braces are a great option for those looking to correct their smile and increase quality of life when it comes to eating and speaking.

Some of the benefits of braces and teeth straightening are

Improved dental alignment

Properly positioned teeth result in a better looking smile with improved function

Enhanced oral health

Straight teeth are easier to clean and maintain, decreasing the risk of future dental issues such as decay or gum disease

Bite correction

Bite problems can impact chewing, speech, and jaw alignment. Braces help to improve the overall bite function and alleviate jaw discomfort

Boosted confidence

A straight and beautiful smile can significantly increase your self-confidence, especially when smiling and speaking.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age should I schedule my child's first orthodontic screening?

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends children receive their first orthodontic screening by the age of 7. It is around this age that some of their permanent adult teeth have come in, and we are able to observe their growth and development to keep an eye out for any issues.

What will happen during my first braces appointment?

First, we'll take some photos and x-rays if necessary, and Dr. Rotaru will conduct an examination of your mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. We'll go over your options, answer any questions, and cover the cost and financing options for your braces treatment. We will then develop a comprehensive treatment plan suited to your needs, and schedule an appointment for your braces placement.

What happens when my braces are put on?

Having braces put on is a pain-free process that usually takes 1 - 1.5 hours. First, your teeth are cleaned and dried. We then apply a special bonding glue and place the brackets. Finally, the archwire is run through the brackets and everything is secured in place with elastics or ties. If you're wearing self-ligating braces (which are tie-less), we'll skip that last step. When finished, we'll give you information on how to care for your braces and send you on your way!
